  1. Diagram the following exercise examples in Emery Lesson Nine, : 8, 9, 11, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20. And then also diagram the following sentences that either have an auxiliary as part of the gerund or have an appositive:

    1. The most difficult part of my exciting plan was the first step, learning Russian.
    2. Being evaluated by another student can be very revealing.
    3. There should have been a sign, a big red one.
    4. What does Johnny, your very finicky eater, start eating first?
  2. Create the five sentences in the patterns described for the five prepositions in part b of the exercises in Emery Lesson 9.
