  2. Re-read Emery Lesson Eleven carefully and then diagram sentences 1, 5-9, 12-13, and 16-17, 19 on p. 61

  3. Also attempt to diagram this final sentence (which has -- among other things! -- an infinitive phrase used absolutely): "To sum up, the butler certainly did it after trying unsuccessfully to find a professional hitman working in the area."
