Great Works - Assignment 4

James Madison University

Instructions:(This will be graded only as an acceptable or unacceptable effort. One of the goals of this exercise is to have you think about HOW an author adds or leaves out details and structures a text to guide readers to particular conclusions or to leave readers with intentionally unanswered questions.
When you finished reading Ray Bradbury's short story "The Small Assassin," were you convinced that the baby was a killer? Write just a couple paragraphs either explaining what details in the story convinced you and how OR expaining what evidence or lack thereof in the story left you thinking that the adults in the story might have mistakenly convinced themselves. Try to use specific evidence that shows you read the story carefully.
