Semi-Hollow Arch Top Electric: Interior Shots, Ready to Be "Boxed Up"

It's summer 2000 and fall is just around the corner.  The major pieces of the arch top electric are ready to be assembled..."boxed up."   I gotta get this baby done before the winter comes.  But, I gotta get some pictures of the interior first.  My friend Alan comes to the rescue!
The curly spalted red maple is starting to show just how pretty this baby is going to be. The grain is so wild that I decide it may be a good idea to add a spruce center strip and some thin flat-grain maple strips for a little reinforcement.  After a weekend of practice and failure, I finally select the best of my hand drawn labels. Over 100 tentelones are glued one-at-a-time to strengthen the joint between top and sides. Side braces and tape reinforce the sides. Notice the modified Spanish footer joinery between sustain block/neck system and sides. The f-holes are bound and all cutouts for hardware are reinforced with spruce cleats. The neck is still in the rough to provide a clamping area for work to come. Click on the photo at right to enlarge it. For an even bigger picture click here and really see the detail!
