CU-SeeMe Internet Video/Audio Conferencing

Here's an exciting way to make contact with us. It's called CU-SeeMe (pronouned "see you, see me") and it allows you to meet with us face-to-face via an Internet based video/audio conferencing application. We know that a large number of schools are currently using CU-SeeMe for instruction. If you have access to such a facility you may want to set up a CU-SeeMe Video conference with us. You will need our IP address. The address is: 129.123.40.16

You can either contact us by sending email to our webmaster (Dr. Steve Anderson sanderso@cc.usu.edu) to set up a time and date...or... you may want to connect and see if we're in "waiting" status. If you "pop up" on my desktop, we'll have a chance to chat.

You can get more information on CU-SeeMe at the following URL: http://cu-seeme.cornell.edu/. According to the developers..."CU-SeeMe is a free videoconferencing program (under copyright of Cornell University and its collaborators) available to anyone with a Macintosh or Windows and a connection to the Internet. With CU-SeeMe, you can videoconference with another site located anywhere in the world, or by use of a reflector, multiple parties/locations are able to participate in a CU-SeeMe conference, each from his or her own desktop computer."
Here's what a multiple party conference might look like:

Essentially, you'll need a video camera attached to a computer with a sound card and a video digitizing card (vdig card). If you don't have a camera, an audio conference can still be done. (But, at this point I guess a phone would work just as well, unless you can save the long-distance charges).

We hope to see you soon.
