National Professional Advisory Council

As part of its outreach effort, and emblematic of our partnering with colleagues in the media professions, the Department of Communication has formed a National Professional Advisory Council, made up of media professionals and friends with expertise in communication industries. The following individuals have agreed to serve as the inaugural Advisory Council, beginning in Fall 1995.

National Professional Advisory Council Charge

  • To advise and counsel the faculty of the Department of Communication at Utah State University in areas of curriculum, finances and fundraising, professional service, scholarship and other development;
  • To serve as a sounding board for department efforts and performance in training communicators for professional careers;
  • To aid in outreach on behalf of the department to its external constituencies in the media and other communication professions, and to alumni, business communities, and other social institutions with which communication in all its forms intersects;
  • To advise the department in its roles of media partner, monitor and scholar;
  • To function as both advisers to and ambassadors for the Department of Communication, its students, faculty and various other constituencies in the department's efforts to retain and expand a central role of communication and media in the lives of all citizens.
