Being - Assignment 3

James Madison University
|
Instructions:[This assignment will be evaluated only as an acceptable or unacceptable effort. Reminder - At-home assignments
should generally be typed (typing is highly recommended but, for very short assignments,
assignments written on full-sized pages with careful handwriting are not a problem), and should be brought to class for
submission. Please remember to put your name and the assignment number on this assignment.]
- From the chapters of Ender's Game assigned for Tuesday, 1/16, choose and type or write down FIVE small quotes (plus their page #s)
of the following kind:
at least two that relate to understanding Ender (i.e., character development),at least one that relates to the setting for the plot,
at least one that relates to "advancing" the plot, and at least one that you think (based on the limited information you will have so far)
may be related to a theme in the novel. Make sure to choose from different points in the reading (not, say, all from the first page :) ), and to
explain your choices. It's okay if a particular quote actually fits into more than one of the categories described above, but still have five different quotes in total.
- Type/write those same quotes again on a separate sheet of paper without any explanatory information, i.e., don't even state on this copy what kind of quote you are
categorizing each as.
