- Do exercise (4) on pages 266-167 of our text. This is
practice with determining the difference between allophones of one phoneme
and distinct phonemes. It therefore is data from another language
(specifically, Korean). For the last part (writing the "rule"), you can just use English to describe what happens when.
- Do exercise (13) on page 271 of our text (just examples a-f). Note that to do the examples with aspirated consonants, you'll need to review the basic discussion of the unaspirated and aspirated allophones of certain English consonants, which is on pages 231-232.
