  3. After rereading the discussion of performative utterances in Chapter 4, attempt Exercise 17, just examples a through f .
  4. After rereading the discussion of implicatures in Chapter 4, attempt Exercise 24, just examples a and b and Exercise 25, also just examples a and b.
