  2. What are the five specific problems with trying to convey the sounds of our language with our alphabetic writing system, as described on pp. 192 -193? Give an example of each.
  3. What, according to Chapter 5 of our textbook, are the seven "places of articulation" relevant for the description of English consonant sounds?
  4. How many nasal consonants are there in English?
  5. Using the charts on pp. 204 and 207 to help, attempt Exercise 6 (just examples b-i) in our textbook.
