Speculative Fiction & Poetry--Assignment 2

James Madison University
|
Instructions: Please type your initial commentary for submission. It should be at least a paragraph or two. Your question/quote can be handwritten or typed on the bottom/back of the same page or on another full-sized sheet of paper. Remember to include your name at the top of the assignment. Multiple pages should be stapled together.
- The prompt this time for your Initial Commentary is the following (choose just one of the three options):
- Discuss the metaphorical significance of the title to Delany's short story "Driftglass". Perhaps you notice other related metaphors that are relevant in the story that work with the title to give a richer perpective?
OR
- What do you see as the reason behind Cal's narration of the fishing event in section III of this story? You could consider what happens, Cal's role in it, or how Cal describes the event. Or maybe something else stands out even more?
OR
- What human desire(s) or fear(s) do you think Gregory Stewart is exploring in his poem "Day Omega"?
