Metaphor - Assignment 8

James Madison University
|
Instructions: [This assignment will be marked only as an acceptable or unacceptable effort.]
- Read the 'Complementary Perspectives' paper and mark up the hardcopy provided as per your custom (e.g., notes in margin, highlighting, underlining).
- Choose a highlighter color distinct from any that you used to mark up your paper and indicate it on the top of the first page.
- For each of the 12 sections (1, 2, 3, 4[1],4[2],...,4[8], 5), highlight the 3 most important sentences with your chosen color, and be prepared to discuss why you chose those sentences.
Note that some reasonable metrics for identifying an important sentence include:
- Is a good summary of topic relative to a certain perspective
- Contains an subtle and important detail that might be missed easily
- Relates to a topic we covered earlier in the class, perhaps making it more clear or presenting a challenge
- Presents an especially convincing point in support of the
section's overall argument
(Remember that if you cannot explain why you chose a highlighted
sentence when asked, you cannot receive credit for the assignment.)
