Graduate students are required to do all the work specified in the shared syllabus for ENG422/512. For graduate students, however, ungraded assignments and class participation combined will count in total as 5% of the final grade rather than as 20%. In addition, graduate students will meet with me early in the semester to chose a paper topic relating the study of grammar to their broader academic and/or career interests. An annotated bibliography for this paper will be due at least two weeks before the end of the semester and the paper itself will be due on the Monday of the last week of class. The paper should be at least ten pages in length, and the grade for this work will constitute the other 15% of the total course grade for graduate students.
