Born in Williamsburg and raised in Gloucester County, Virginia, Amy developed an interest in design and culture beginning in high school. Her favorite subjects included graphic design as well as sociology. While searching for a suitable college, she discovered James Madison University offered a major combining her interests. She is currently a junior Honors student at JMU pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and Design, with a concentration in Interactive Media, and a minor in Anthropology.
In the beginning stages of her senior honors project, Amy plans to create a website for the JMU Anthropology Department. Next semester entails a practicum with the online team of the school newspaper, The Breeze. This summer she also hopes to land a media-related internship. In the future she aims for a career that educates society and integrates her love of the media arts with anthropology.
In Amy's free time, she enjoys reading the news and discussing current events. Traveling never gets old; she has toured Switzerland, Italy, England, Canada, and the Caribbean. One day she also hopes to visit Machu Picchu, Egypt, and the Greek Isles. She finds relaxation through music and loves exploring the airwaves for new artists. Snow skiing and thrift store shopping are just a few pastimes. Amy is also involved in the JMU's Freethinkers Club, SMAD Club, and Fugue, a Journal of the Creative Arts published by the JMU Honors Program.
