Using SPSS:

(A) At least twice in your output, use SPSS to print your name.

(B) Change the random number seed to the last five digits of your student identification number.

(C) Generate 700 random variates from a Normal ( μ = 40, σ = 3 ) distribution.

(1) Label the variable as "X". (You will NOT need to print these 700 random variates.)

(2) Graph your 700 random variates in a histogram.

(3) Using SPSS, display the normal curve on your histogram from part (C2).

(4) Print the Q-Q plot associated with these 700 random variates.

(5) Determine the sample mean ( X ), sample standard deviation ( s ), and sample variance ( s ² ) of your 700 random variates (using SPSS). Next to your sample mean ( X ), sample standard deviation ( s ), and sample variance ( s ² ), write the population values (i.e., write "μ = 40" next to the sample mean, "σ = 3" next to the sample standard deviation, and "σ ² = 9" next to the sample variance).

(D) The order of your output should be approximately the same order in which the problems were assigned.

(E) Although you are allowed to receive help from others, list the names of those who helped you and the names of those whom you helped, as well as what type of help was given. If you did not give or receive help, then write "No help" on the first page. WARNING: Sharing ELECTRONIC copies of SPSS homework in part or in full is a university honor code violation.

(F) Staple your work together.
