Win98 Dial-Up Networking uses the standard windows winsock file, but some other services (i.e. AOL) use their own winsock files. Extracting files from CAB files
From CD-ROM:

• extract /a /y /l d:\win98\precopy1.cab {filename} {destination directory}
  [where d: is the letter of your CD-ROM drive]

Getting to the ethernet address of a 98 machine
from the run line:

• type: cmd to get to the dos window
• at the dos prompt type: ipconfig/all
