• 2004 "Cherry Ripe" prize for best talk by an Academic at the 2004 ANZIAM (Australia and New Zealand Industrial and Applied Mathematics) annual conference, as judged by the graduate students.
• 2002 Michell Medal for Outstanding New Researchers, awarded February 2002 by ANZIAM (Australia and New Zealand Industrial and Applied Mathematics).
• T.M. Cherry prize for best student talk at the 1991 Australian Applied Mathematics Conference, at Hanmer Springs, N.Z. At this time I am the only academic to have received both the Cherry and Cherry Ripe prizes, let alone the Michell medal, which is not awarded every year.
