Judges
Position Summary: Reviews individual team accomplishments and provides feedback. Along with other judges, selects team award recipients through FLL's discussion-based deliberation process. Position serves as a role model for the team members.

Activities and Responsibilities:
- Participate in Judge training prior to the event
- Interview and observe teams in the Judging rooms, Pit, and/or on the playing field
- Review team profile/ introduction sheet when used
- Participate on Judge Panel to decide team awards recipients
- Write short awards scripts extolling merits of winning teams
- Participate in the closing ceremony and assist with award presentations to teams
Experience and Skills Needed:
- Strong assessment skills
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills
- Ability to effectively relate to teenagers and adults
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Knowledge of award criteria and selection process
- Ability to move about the facility
- Robot Judges should have some programming and design experience; they should also have adequate knowledge of LEGO MINDSTORMS products, as well as Challenge missions, scoring and rules.
- At least one Project Judge in each pair should have a science background related to the Challenge theme.
- Professionals who have a background in organizational behavior, motivation, teamwork, or communications do well as Core Values Judges.
