1. Choose a word to adopt. Either select one of those suggested in the preface to the Murphy text (recommended) OR suggest an alternative (for approval) that has the characteristics described in that section and tell me why you would like to use that word.


2. Using the word "fancy", do just part B of the "Adopt-a-word" exercise at the end of Murphy Chapter 1 (Don't worry; you'll do the whole exercise with your own adopted word soon. :) )


3. Do exercise 1 (any three of the six examples) at the end of Murphy Chapter 1.


4. Do exercise 1 at the end of Murphy Chapter 2


5. Do just examples b,e, and f of exercise 2 at the end of Murphy Chapter 2
