Comments:

After many years as a "Class D" station with limited coverage, WMLU was able (in 2000) to upgrade to a "Class A" license. This has greatly expanded WMLU's coverage area. From the high-rise dormitory at Longwood University, WMLU's signal covers the populated areas of Farmville and Hampden-Sydney, much of Prince Edward County, and even as far North as Willis Mountain (eventually past Willis Mountain, once it is fully removed!).

WMLU is licensed to the Board of Visitors of Longwood University. Under a unique partnership agreement most of the WMRA broadcast programming day is carried on WMLU. Some hours on WMLU feature locally-generated student programming. Click here to see the WMLU programming grid.
