This exciting concert is devoted entirely to big band arrangements of music by the seminal English rock group Radiohead. Respected arrangers from across the United States, and from the Netherlands and Germany, have contributed big band arrangements of Radiohead’s music. The Radiohead Project has been performed by some of the most well-known university jazz programs in the world, as well as by the internationally renowned HR Big Band from Frankfurt, Germany.
JMU Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Band
The JMU Jazz Ensemble was founded in 1971 and is the premier jazz group in the School of Music at JMU. The ensemble has performed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ Terrace Theater, Montreux International Jazz and Blues Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and Virginia Music Educator’s Association annual convention.
