Be sure to have carefully read the indicated sections of our text by the date next to which they are assigned. 
Chapter 1
M 1/9 - Introduction to the course. 
W 1/11 - "The appearance of Demonstrative Mathematics".
F 1/13 - "Some Remarks on Quadrature" and "Great Theorem". (Added: We discussed.)
M 1/16 - Holiday.
W 1/18 - "Epilogue".  Consider these as you read. (Added: We discussed.)
F 1/20 - Quiz on Chapter 1.  
Chapter 2
M 1/23 - "The Elements of Euclid".  (Added:  We discussed.)
W 1/25 - "Book I: Preliminaries".  Consider these as you read.
F 1/27 - "Book I:  The Early Propositions".  Consider these as you read.  (Added:  We discussed.)
M 1/30 - "Book I: Parallelism and Related Topics".  Consider these as you read.
W 2/1 - "Great Theorem".  Concentrate on the proofs.  We will also be constructing a square. 
F 2/3 - "Epilogue". If you cannot accept some of the things that you are reading, it may help to have a play with this applet as you read.
 
I have asked you to pay attention to the logical organization of the propositions.  I find it useful to be able to look at the complete list of propositions.  The complete Book I (and the others) can be accessed here.
 
A good self-assessment of your understanding of the meaning and organization of the propositions could be to work out,
from Dunham's supplementary problems , questions 16-18, 20-26 and especially 27. 
 
M 2/6 - Problem day, in preparation for Chapter 2 quiz on Wednesday.
W 2/8 - Quiz on Chapter 2.  You will be permitted to use your text, as well as a single sheet of handwritten notes.
F 2/10 - (Chapter 3) "The Elements, Books II-VI"
 
M 2/13 - "Number Theory in Euclid" and "Great Theorem".  (Added: We discussed.)
W 2/15 - "The Final Books of the Elements" and "Epilogue"
F 2/17 - Discussion, Problem Day.
M 2/20 - Quiz on Chapter 3.  *Please see timeline/dates for the biography and "great theorem" papers.*
W 2/22 - We begin Chapter 4:  "The Life of Archimedes" and "Great Theorem".
F 2/24 - "Archimedes' Masterpiece: On the Sphere and Cylinder" and "Epilogue".
