Final or Career Presentation Project - SMAD 200L

The final project for SMAD 200L will be a presentation project using the computer application Astound. This program is available in all labs. The project should be turned in on a disk. The name of the Astound file should be your class Test ID No. The volume name of the floppy disk should also be your class Test ID no. and your disk should be labeled with a proper disk label containing your name and your class ID no. The project should contain as a minimum the following elements:

1 - The project should timed so that it lasts anywhere from 40-60 seconds. Remember that each slide's duration can be set.

2 - The first slide should have the SMAD logo superimposed over a white background and last for 5 seconds. The image should fade in. The SMAD logo can be found at the SMAD homepage site.

3 - The second slide should introduce you to the class. As a minimum, it should have a photo of yourself, your name, and a statement about yourself. You can have other information if you like.

4 - A third slide should contain something like an advertisement for your favorite web site. You should try to create what appears as an advertisement for this site. This slide should contain a graphic from that site and the URL.

5 - A fourth slide should be a graph clearly illustrating the following relational information: Amount of time you spend doing the following: Eating, Sleeping, Studying, Watching TV, and Other activity. You may omit or include other catregories if you want to.

6 - A fifth slide which is a fade to black.

You may have more slides, but not less. There has to be transitions between the slides and these are up to you with the exceptions of the first and last slide. Each project will be shown in class. You will grade every project along with the instructors. The following criteria will be used to grade the projects: 1 - Transitions between each of the slides; 2 -Readability of the text; 3 - Quality of the pictures or illustrations; 4 - Adherence to project instructions; and 5 - Application of good graphic design.

The instructor will determine a grade using the same criteria.

It is your responsibility to make sure the program runs prior to class! Past problems have included missing graphic files and corrupted presentation files which make the program crash. Time is short so get cracking.
