My primary area is geometric group theory. I also know a little bit about knot theory. I supervise our Research Experiences for Undergraduates program.

Outside of work, I am a member of the Harrisonburg Transportation Safety & Advisory Commission, a member of the Harrisonburg Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee, a bicycle commuter, a golfer, and a father of two.
