Courses Schedule Vita Last modified August 16, 2024 |
My primary area is geometric group theory. I also know a little bit about knot theory. I have taught 30 different courses at JMU. I started and supervised our Research Experiences for Undergraduates program from 2002 through 2014. I am an Assistant Head for the department until the spring of 2025. I am chair of our Curriculum and Instruction Committee, which also gives me a seat on the College Curriculum and Instruction Committee. I'm also chair of the Assessment Committee. If you are looking to teach a course that develops all the algebraic properties of the reals from the Peano Axioms, I've got the free book for you: An Axiomatic Construction of the Real Number System. Outside of work, I am a member of Harrisonburg's Parks and Recreation Commission, a bicycle commuter, almost a musician, kind of a fitness nut, a decent golfer, a husband and a father of two. |
