My name is Caitlin Marcheschi and I'm a graphic designer with a passion for creating, inspiring, and my dog, Belle.
I'm a senior design student at James Madison University with experience ranging from photography to illustrations to web design. I believe in design as a homeopathic agent.
Art is often intended to appeal and connect with human emotion; it arouses aesthetic and moral feelings and can be understood as a form of universal communication. By expanding beyond a simple definition and using personal creations, artists provide a viewer with a visualization of a creative mind. Artists express themselves in ways that evoke a deep personal response from the viewer and forces them to connect with their mentality and what it is to be human.
For me, art is a way that I can fully express myself. Being able to create something provides me with an outlet for my emotions and feelings. Each piece represents me as a person and is dependent on each the unique details and happenings of my life from day to day. I have always been interested in a surreal and abstract style and I think that it truly shows in my artwork. I have found that I always get the best response from a viewer with such styles as well. For me, art is my depiction of real life mixed with my emotions. I try to make such emotions concrete in my work to increase shock value. Though I find realistic art to be valid and beautiful, for me, a recreation of something isn’t enough. I get the most satisfaction out of taking a realistic recreation and adding my own creativity to it to make it my own. It is this creativity and imagination that gives me the satisfaction I crave as an artist.
