Program Design Project

The Resistance Training Program Design Variables :

1.    Needs Analysis

2.    Exercise Selection

3.    Training Frequency

4.    Exercise Order

5.    Training Load and Repetitions

6.    Volume

7.    Rest Periods

Project Directions:

When writing your needs analysis first research your sport and produce a thorough Evaluation of the athlete’s sport.

-          movement analysis

-          physiological analysis

-          injury analysis

After the evaluation of the sport produce a detailed individual athlete profile (assessment of the athlete).  Your athlete is in the Off-Season period, and for training status your athlete needs to have a minor current sport related/caused injury.  This injury is in its late stages of recovery, something leftover from the past season and will be totally healed in 2 weeks.

After completing your sport and athlete profiles you will choose a battery of tests to evaluate your athlete’s strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, muscular endurance, body composition, and/or cardiovascular endurance according to their sport and individual needs.  Make up hypothetical testing results/data for your report and list them in a table as below:
