Lindsey Monroe is originally from Rockville, Md. She attended a private, Catholic high school just outside of Washington, D.C., where she spent school days in painting, drawing and design classes and playing competetive tennis outside of school.

She competed in tennis tournament play year round throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. She was the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) singles champion in the fall of 2004 and 2005 and doubles champion in the fall of 2002, 2003 and 2005.

Monroe has been a student at James Madison University since the fall of 2006, and plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in media arts and design in May 2010.

She has worked in numerous fields such as athletic coaching, human resources, customer service, marketing and public relations. Monroe has worked in a vast array of industries such as the banking, home goods, performing arts, internet and newspaper. Most recently, she's become specialized in communication via new social media and Web 2.0 technologies.

Monroe has experience with feature writing, hard news writing, blog writing and public relations writing, however, she also has a passion for narrative and poetry writing.

She splits her time between Harrisonburg, Va., where she attends JMU, her hometown of Rockville, Md. and Saratoga Springs, NY where most of her family members reside.

On her free time she enjoys spending time with her roommates and close friends at JMU, playing intramural sports, kickboxing and reading New York Times bestseller list fiction.
