Marketing and Circulation Coordinator

Lindsey Monroe has accepted the position of marketing and circulation coordinator at the James Madison University student newspaper, The Breeze, for the second academic school year.
Monroe hopes to increase the use of new social media tools to get readers and advertisers more involved in events hosted by The Breeze on campus and throughout Harrisonburg, Va.
The position was only created a year ago; Monroe was the first to fill the position.
She works closely with the advertising and editorial staffs to get their goals and objectives accomplished.
She conducts market research, seeks new advertisers, plans promotional events for readers and internal staff members, and designs print and web advertisements.
Marketing Intern
AOL LLC, June 2009-Aug.2009
Monroe worked as the marketing intern on a seven-person marketing team that represented the entire global company.
She managed a summer sweepstakes marketing campaign that spanned across 22 AOL sites, with over 81,000 entrants within the first month.
She led meetings with team leaders on each of the AOL sites, while also creating and updating a weekly newsletter that had 20,000 recipients within the first month it was created.
Monroe also assisted on advertising campaigns to promote various AOL properties such as AOL.com and FleaFlicker.com, AOL's fantasy football program.
She also conducted basic web reporting for market research.
Marketing Intern

Monroe developed and implemented a strategic advertising campaign to increase the number of college students who attend performances.
She planned low-budget pre- and post-show receptions for college students and promoted the events through social media platforms.
Customer Servive Representative
Chevy Chase Bank, FSB, May 2008-Aug. 2008
Monroe worked as a customer service representative in several different branches. She assisted customers with all of their financial needs and transactions.
