If you ever found yourself wanting to journey beyond The Wall and see a White Walker, look no further than the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in the wintertime. When I booked my trip on Viator to Western Iceland, the title of the trip being “Snaefellsnes Peninsula Classic Day Tour from Reykjavik” , I was not prepared for the amazing experience I was about to embark on. Easily my favorite part of my trip to Iceland, on this trip I saw icy waterfalls, frozen lakes (the one featured in season 8 of GOT when Dany saves Jon and Co.!) , snowy mountains (the arrow The Hound sees in the flames!), glaciers, sleeping volcanos, black beaches (Jon Snow made landfall here) , and sea cliffs. Featured in the photos above, you can see just how picturesque the peninsula is. Being I traveled to Iceland in the month of March the landscape was covered in snow and ice and temperatures were freezing, however I would not have wanted to go to the peninsula at a different time. I loved seeing stretches of frozen earth covered in snow, for it really felt like I had traveled to a distant, unearthly land. If you get a chance to book a tour to Snæfellsnes in Western Iceland I 1000/10 recommend, for this is one my fondest memories of my life.
Bellow is a video of Kirkjufellfoss, a destination I went to during my tour, and the Mt. Kirkjufell which is the GOT mountain.
