- The Science and Math
Learning Center is in 200 Roop Hall. It would be a good idea to
do your homework there.
- Check out this flash
mind reader. See if you can use some elementary number theory to
see how it works.
- Here is a fun planar
graph game that asks you to rearrange the vertices of a planar graph
to eliminate all the edge crossings.
- This article in
Plus Magazine briefly explains how a computer program uses graph theory to
attempt to "learn" language.
Advice
Do
some homework at a fixed time and in a fixed (quiet) place every
day.
Work
with other people.
If you have definitions to memorize, write them out on a sheet of
paper and try to reproduce that sheet without looking at it.
When preparing for an exam, pick out problems at random
(either in the homework or the examples in the book) and try to do
them as if you were in an exam situation (i.e., no peeking at
notes).
After an exam, work through all the problems you missed
until you can do them correctly.
