Announcements - updated April 21, 2010

  • Your final exam will be Tuesday May 4 10:30 - 12:30.
  • Here are some polynomial facts from Mathwords.com. This isn't a bad site to check out for a lot of the topics in this class.
  • There is an errata page for the 231 book.
  • Here is an applet that illustrates two functions that are continuous but nowhere differentiable. Each is obtained by adding up infinitely many functions.

Advice

  • Do some homework at a fixed time and in a fixed (quiet) place every day.
  • Work with other people.
  • If you have "formulas" to memorize, write them out on a sheet of paper and try to reproduce that sheet without looking at it.
  • When preparing for a test or quiz, pick out problems at random (either in the homework or the examples in the book) and try to do them as if you were in an exam situation (i.e., no peeking at notes).
  • After a test or quiz, work through all the problems you missed until you can do them correctly.
